CLIENT: Peace of Mind and Drugs / Axel Foley | DATE: April 2017, Nov 2018 In an ongoing series of events held at Honey by rapper, Will Robinson, I showcased Metamorphosis, a live edited feed where people dancing could interact with an alien, glitchy version of themselves. In the first version we utilized VDMX and a 1080 webcam. In the 2018 version, we utilized the xbox kinect, Touchdesigner and Resolume in order to create a live, light painting installation.

CLIENT: Secret Circus | DATE: September, 2018 With our third year at Secret Circus, we decided to pull out all the stops. We had full reign to build out the stage design we wanted and create the perfect visual aesthetic for this stage and style of music. Here's the details: Projection - BenQ Short Throw from the truss to the back wall. Three screens divided and mapped. Monitors - 8, 17" monitors mirrored and hung on the front of the stage. Lighting - 4 DMX scanners, 4 LED strips, 2 LED cubes for accent lighting and color schemes Interactive - Kinect for Windows running into Touchdesigner giving both the DJ a unique look and the opportunity for the audience to interact and make their own visuals. It was a hit. CLIENT: Northern Spark | DATE: June, 2018 I was asked to contribute video remixes for the 2018 Northern Spark festival by Paige Dansinger of the Better World Museum. The source videos were of people drawing local edible plants in virtual reality. I created a three layered mandala out of these clips and utilized numbers from the Fibonacci sequence to inform the kaleidoscopic effects. This, in turn, created new and novel virtual flowers with similar shapes and growth patterns that can be found in nature. This was part of a group projection for two nights on the ceiling of the Minneapolis Central Library. Learn more about the project below: https://2018.northernspark.org/projects/common-urban-edible-plants/ CLIENT: Spectrohm Movement | DATE: February, 2017 The second in a series of shows at Honey in Minneapolis, I used this platform to break out my latest show, EMERGENCE. EMERGENCE is a generative fractal performance that uses VDMX and video feedback to produce fractal forms that grow and change color. Plus, I did it all by hand (in a sense). Check out the definition of emergence here. Enjoy the Facebook live feed below and a few other shots from that night as well. CLIENT: Secret Circus | DATE: September, 2017 Back for our second year at Secret Circus, we had the awesome opportunity to outfit the Cabana/DJ stage. We tried something new by using thin, white scrims to create a front layer of projection and a "holographic" effect. It went over really well and was enjoyed by both the artists and fans. Here's a look at how it went down. CLIENT: Vital Vibrations | DATE: August, 2017 With our biggest undertaking at the time, we were tasked with providing technical and visual support for the main stage at the Vital Vibrations 2017. For this stage (same as Earth Rhythms) we rented a 10k Christie projector. Using scaffolding we brought the projector 11.5' above the crowd and mapped the Mission-inspired stage facade. We provided visual support for two nights including Phutureprimative's set and many others. CLIENT: Dance Agenda | DATE: August, 2017 Played a trance event at the Uptown VFW that featured international artist, Ben Nicky. For this show I used multiple effects layers and groups to build up over time to save the best for last. With the four on the floor style and tempo of trance and psytrance I experimented with more audio-reactive effects and BPM matching. CLIENT: Earth Rhythms | DATE: June, 2017 Projection mapped a mission-style facade on the Grove stage at Earth Rhythms. Used a mixture of the Emergence technique and other clips for a number of artists. Check the recap video below with music by Beak Nasty and TRNSTYL. CLIENT: HER Social App | DATE: May, 2017 Booked to help create a unique look for the HER Social App Anniversary Party, we overlaid custom liquid visuals with live silhouettes from the dance floor. Utilizing Kinect for Windows, Resolume and Touchdesigner, we brought the large central elevator shaft to life as the main visual focus of the night. CLIENT: Symone Smash It | DATE: May, 2017 After doing a few shows with Symone Smash It at Can Can Wonderland, she invited me to VJ her EP release party at The Pourhouse in Downtown Minneapolis. The best parts about that venue is that they have one of Minnesota's largest projection screens (over 25 feet) and 50 other connected TVs throughout the venue giving everyone a front row seat for watching the visuals. For this show I used Symone's circle/diamond logo as a mask and ran spacey, colorful visuals underneath. Plus, I added her name front and center so that everyone would know who's rockin' the stage. CLIENT: B-Lectric | DATE: February, 2017 With an email sent into the void, I managed to get the go ahead to partner with The Dance Shanty and do some projections onto their new structure for a visual element to accompany their awesome beats. B-Lectric is the first iteration and part of a growing winter festival across the Twin Cities. Hosted by Barbette, projection, fire and fun converged upon uptown Minneapolis for a cold night of good times. For this particular event I teamed up with Alex Munro (also from SNOWTA) to do a tag team performance. Their new structure provided a unique challenge in that they were using semi-transparent sheets for the walls. Our projection ended up working nicely to be seen both outside and in and also gave a colored glow to the structure. Check out the video and footage below and let me know if projection would add to your next event! CLIENT: SNOWTA FEST | DATE: December, 2016 For the first ever Snowta NYE Festival hosted at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Second Sight Visuals was contracted to supply a team of VJs for the Upper Midwest's Largest EDM New Years event. We got to experiment with some new material and give a unique experience for each performer. It was really quite incredible to be in front of thousands of concert goers and helping add value to an already awesome experience. Second Sight Visuals personally provided visuals for Beak Nasty, Bobby Raps and Hippie Sabotage. Check out more details on the event here: Snowta NYE page CLIENT: Secret Circus | DATE: September, 2016 Had a great opportunity to play a smaller festival in North Branch Minnesota called Secret Circus with the guys in The Ancient Moon. This was my first time doing a solo visual performance (I'd teamed up with Mondo Liquado Light Show previously) and it ended going even better than expected. I met a lot of great people and networked some other opportunities while getting to stay on later and do visuals for Headband Jam. |
