mutata is the line where touch meets tech. A tangible experience melds with digital for a unique and ever-changing installation. Utilizing Kinect for Windows, a threshold plane is created and manipulated by the hands of participants, as it changes, a new layer of glitched imagery emerges in front of their eyes.
151 images were harnessed in all. Merging between the layers created thousands of novel scenarios for the user to experience. See them all after the jump.
mutata was developed first for the weekend long, "Nights of the Living Glitch Art" hosted by Xanadu Media in North East Minneapolis.
The custom glitch frame was created by the skilled hands of Thomas Lutz.
